South Portland in 1989
Founder Ron Stephan opened Ricetta’s Brick Oven Pizzeria in South Portland in June of 1989. The name Ricetta came from the Italian word for recipe. From the beginning, Ron was dedicated to using the freshest ingredients and to making everything from scratch in-house.
Ricetta’s Comes to Falmouth
Ricetta’s capitalized on its popularity in South Portland and expanded to its Falmouth location in 2000. Today, Ricetta’s boasts a modern and family-friendly atmosphere in Falmouth with a delectable menu that’s filled with your favorite pizza, pasta, grill, and Italian entrees at an affordable price.
Best Pizza in Maine
Primarily focused on pizza at the time, our brick oven pizzas soon became so popular that Ricetta’s won the Maine Sunday Telegram’s Reader Poll for Best Pizza in Maine 20 years in a row, from 1990-2010.

Ricetta’s is well known for its award-winning brick oven pizzas and exceptional service. Over the years, we have served all of your favorite Italian dishes and desserts using as many locally sourced ingredients as possible. Our pork, beef and seafood are all sourced locally and fresh. In 2017, we were awarded Best Italian Restaurant, Best Pizza and Best Caterer from the Reader’s Choice Contest in the Northern Forecaster.

In May of 2016, Ricetta’s added a grill and grilled items to our menu. This change is an exciting direction to be going into, and we’re happy that you’re here to go on it with us! Our grilled items are great for the whole family, and sure to become your new favorites. With this new direction, Ricetta’s is now something everyone can enjoy. From gluten free menu items to grilled proteins and vegetables with delectable sides, we have something for every kind of food lover!

Our food is always served fresh and made-to-order by our talented and dedicated kitchen and wait staff. Some of our employees have been with us for more than 20 years! Of course, we still use our hand-built brick ovens to capture the Ricetta’s signature taste our customers have loved from the very beginning.
